ANDRIA (BA)

CATHEDRAL

Restoration work is currently underway on the Mascioni organ in the Cathedral of Andria (Bari); opus no. 482 of our company.

The instrument was built in 1935 at the request of the organist of the Cathedral Monsignor Antonio De Fidio. It consists of 33 stops divided into two manuals and pedal, and it was inaugurated on 6 October 1935, with a concert by Maestro Federico Caudana.

The organ's facade originally crowned the bishop's chair and was later modified by another firm with the addition of a central bay of no speacking pipes.
The restoration work will be an opportunity to replace worn interior parts, update the transmission and the stop list adding some reeds and flutes.
