GIUBIASCO (Switzerland)
THE ORGAN
The small, but very interesting parish church of Giubiasco, is located near Bellinzona in Switzerland. The church dates back to the 12th Century. The new organ is located on the balcony above the main entrance.
The organ is a mechanical tracker instrument with two manuals: the Great organ is located in the main case, and the Positive is a “ruck” hanging from the edge of the balcony.
The stoplist, casework and facade layout were designed by Ing. Michele Beltrametti who is also the organist of the church.
The light touch of the mechanical action, and the beautiful acoustics have helped us in creating a very musically-interesting and tonally beautiful instrument.
