LORETO (AN)
The first part of the general overhaul of the large organ built in 1994 as op. 1126 for the Shrine of the Holy House of Loreto was completed. This involved the major organ located in the choir loft above the entrance portal.
The “Portale” organ is equipped with 56 registers and is operated by a mechanically transmitted console located at the base of the organ consisting of three 61-note keyboards and a 32-note pedalboard. This important instrument is also equipped with electrical transmissions so that it can be played from the console located on the assembly floor, which also operates the other two phonic bodies in the nave.
Next year, the second batch of work will be tackled, which will also include the overhaul of the electrical transmission system.
