A MASCIONI FROM 1955
We have completed the restoration of the organ built by Vincenzo Mascioni in 1955, work no. 707, for the Parish Church of St Stephen in Viggiù (Varese). Situated in the choir loft above the main entrance, the instrument comprises two divisions, housed in wall niches on either side of the choir loft. In the centre is the console, which has been fully restored, featuring two 58-note manuals and a 30-pedal pedalboard; the stop action consists of a row of tablets arranged above the keyboards. The two facades, facing the console, have been restored with a new coat of paint applied to the zinc pipes.
The organ retains a rich tonal palette and an original electro-pneumatic action with pneumatic windchests, every component of which has now been completely refurbished.
Through this restoration work, we have restored the instrument respecting its original construction and tonal characteristics
