COMISO (RG)
After a long journey that brought all the restored parts back to Sicily in our workshop, we began the installation of the organ built by F.lli Michele and Agostino Polizzi of Modica in the beautiful Basilica of Maria Santissima Annunziata in Comiso.
The instrument, which was inaugurated in 1923, consists of 26 real registers pneumatically operated by plates with ceramic discs placed horizontally above the keyboards. Transmission is mechanical for the two manuals, which consist of two large wind-operated jacks made according to the Lombard construction tradition of the Serassi family, from whom Michele Polizzi had the opportunity to learn the art of organ-making.
